How Do Middle School Boys Refer to Each Other-gay
These trendy kicks will fit right in!
It's that time of year: back-to-school shopping. Most girls love it, but most boys? Not so much. Boys needs are pretty basic when it comes to shoes. They all want something comfortable, and the boys who are becoming more style conscious really want to make sure their scoots look cool. Here are five popular shoe styles that will lure them out of their Crocs and into some school-appropriate footwear.
5: Sneakers
Get your boy a cool pair of sneaks, and he'll probably tell you that's all he really needs in his shoe wardrobe. Boys of this era love all of the iconic shoes that their dads probably wore when they were in school. Whether they're a Chuck Taylor kind of kid or they prefer Vans or Pumas, it's all about personal preference -- his, not yours. But take heed, because you'll likely be picking out the rest of the styles that they need.
4: Athletic Shoes
The wrong shoe on the field can be dangerous.
Converse-type sneakers are OK for casual games of shooting hoops, but if your boy is more active and enjoys running or jumping, he's going to need a little more support for his feet, which can be found in a good pair of running shoes. And don't forget to budget for sport-specific shoes like cleats for baseball, soccer or football, high-tops for basketball, or racing shoes for track. .
3: Casual Shoes
It's always good to have a casual shoe in your boy's wardrobe that's not quite a dress up shoe, but also doesn't fall under the realm of sandal or sneaker. Save yourself a trip to the ER and skip the ones with laces. Most boys are much too busy to sit down and tie them and would rather risk tripping than be held up. Instead, opt for a solid slip-on shoe that stays on during rough play. You can find well-crafted casual boys shoes in different colors that are comfortable and sturdy.
2: Boots
Hiking boots are great for active boys.
If you live in a snowy region, then winter boots are an inevitable purchase for growing feet each year. Your best bet is to find a pair that's lightweight and breathable if you don't want a daily argument about putting them on. Hot and heavy feet are no fun. If you live in a warmer climate, but have a boy that likes to explore the woods, a pair of hiking boots is a good investment. And, of course, in just about every climate, it's always good to have a pair of rain boots or some sort of weatherproof boot standing by.
1: Sandals
Since school starts during those last days of Indian Summer (or even early August for some students), cool feet are still a priority for at least a month, and your son may be surprised to know there's a world beyond his beloved Crocs. Flip-flops probably aren't a good pick for school, but sandals are great for active kids. Some sandals even closely resemble shoes, in case there's a no sandals policy at school.
